The model was pioneered by the Independent Clinical Oncology Network (ICON), an innovative network of oncologists in South Africa. ICON’s collaborative prototype empowers all agents in the healthcare matrix: funders, doctors, and most importantly, patients.

Isimo Health was founded to develop the ICON model and apply it to other healthcare specialties, and now serves as the operational and administrative body to ICON.
